Volunteer: Sarah Kuech
Sarah recently finished a week-long after school curriculum with middle school students. This curriculum, developed by Malaria No More and the Lalela Project, emphasized 9 facts about malaria. Students learn about the importance of using mosquito nets, how to hang them properly, and why it’s important to sleep under one every night, all year-round. On the last day students create ‘dream banners.’ Small pieces of cloth are decorated and labeled: each student chooses who they want to be when they grow up. These pieces of cloth are pinned to the top of a net to remind them to protect their dreams.
