Debbie Gueye’s educational background is in International Studies and International Public Health. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal from 1992 to 1995, first in the health program and then working at the Ministry of Women, Children and Families. After Peace Corps and grad school, she worked for different NGOs and contractors in the Washington, DC area supporting USAID-funded programs in child survival, integrated family health, disease surveillance, and family planning compliance. These projects took her to Benin, Ghana, Tanzania, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, Pakistan, and the Philippines. She has been the USAID/Senegal Resident Advisor for the President’s Malaria Initiative since 2007.
