PDM Workshops with the Malaria Initiative

During the months of November and December, PC Madagascar was able to use USAID’s field assistance funds to put 21 volunteers and their counterparts through an intense, week-long, Project Design and Management (PDM) training with a Maternal and Child Health focus.  Many of the sessions during the first two days were focused on the Malaria Initiative, ‘training up’ participants on malaria interventions and the national malaria control strategies and providing them with concrete ideas to use in their villages.  And then helping participants to understand the components of a well planned, coordinated and evaluated project so our volunteers and their counterparts can get out there stomping effectively.

Activities and ideas shared at Boot Camp II, such as Neem Cream production and the use of Audacity for radio PSAs, were able to spread throughout the volunteer community in Madagascar.
